NUVOC Volleyball Club Edinburgh

NUVOC to roll out new formula today as they hit the court against Beacon at Firrhill.

If NUVOC win this rearranged fixture, it will put them into second place in Mens Division 2 (given the current table). This will match the womens standing, who are also sitting second in womens division 2.

For those that are up and about, not shopping, working or in the pub, warm up is at 12.00 and first ball served at 12.30.

Thursday already?! Man o man. Well, tonight sees the start of our new Junior session, it all kicks off at 7pm at the Crags Sports Centre and will run every Thursday. Bill Stobie will be looking after the sessions although I'm pretty sure that as it becomes more popular help will be required.

Men first and second team in training again tonight at the Crags. Second team from 7pm, first team from 8pm.

Volleyball games this weekend

The old knee supports have gone to support heaven, enter the latest addition to my kit bag. Having suffered the rigours of concrete floors (fair while back now) and weekly impact training, it's no surprise that my knees have taken a bit of a pounding. Although pain killers, anti inflammatories and physio visits  have helped to keep me upright this latest purchase is an absolute god send, I just wish I'd bought them before.

I sought some advice from Nick at Sportset and decided that the rucanor diamond support would do the trick. Although you look as if you should be an extra in a Terminator sequel, it really does work wonders. Not a twinge throughout last nights session and miraculously no pains this morning either. Hooray!

So, for anyone else who suffers from knee problems then get your hands one of these and you'll be jumping round the court like you used to. Cheers Buddha
