It's all go this weekend

E-mail

well, the last of the league fixtures are upon us this weekend with action in mens division 3 and womens division 2.

NUVOC II are off down to Troon for their wee joust with those spritely young chaps from the west coast whilst our women are playing for a play off place when they take to the court against South Ayrshire II.

All to play for ladies and gents, all to play for. Let's see a couple of wins on the board to round off the league.

League Round Up

E-mail

Men Division One
City of Edinburgh
Glasgow Mets
Kilmarnock
Bon Accord
City of Glasgow Ragazzi
Team Fife
Edinburgh Jets
Troon

Men Division Two

Kilmarnock II
Dundee
Pentland NUVOC
Bellshill
Su Ragazzi II
Polonia Jets
Glasgow Mets II
Beacon

Here's the scenario as regards div 1/div 2 play offs should Kilmarnock II not take promotion, Dundee would play Troon, Edinburgh Jets would remain in Division One.

"For information, should the league champion decline their promotion rights, the 2nd placed team must still play in the playoff, against the team placing 8th in the division above.  If the second placed team, (or both teams) decline their promotion rights, there will be no playoff required.  If a team wins through a playoff, it would be expected that they were willing to take the promotion on offer through this."

A special thanks goes out to all those who helped with the game. The result would have been slightly different if NUVOC hadn't been down to a bare six - injuries take their toll once more.

(20 - 25, 18 - 25, 23 - 25)

Womens Division 2

E-mail

Come on the girls! Last game of the womens division 2 league this weekend and it couldn't be tighter. It's down to wire to see who gets automatic promotion and who gets a play off place.

Glasgow International are current league leaders on 39pts, NUVOC are second with 37pts and Lenzie are 3rd also on 37pts. GI play Edinburgh Jets III, now this could turn the top of the table depending on who Jets decide to field. NUVOC play South Ayrshire II  whilst Lenzie take on City of Edinburgh II.

If GI lose their game and NUVOC win, then NUVOC win the league and GI would be in play off place. If GI win their game and NUVOC win their game then GI win the league and NUVOC would get play off place.

So, good luck to NUVOC and of course good luck to Edinburgh Jets III.

Men Division 2

Pentland NUVOC 2 v 3 Su Ragazzi II

(25-22, 24-26, 25-22, 21-25, 10-15)

Not the prettiest game in the world with both teams tottering with how to's more than can do's. Here's hoping that the match tomorrow (sunday semi final day) has a lot more to offer in the way of fluidity.

The boys will finish 3rd in Division 2. So that's a pretty good thing.

Men Division 3

Pentland NUVOC II 5 v 0 Grassmarket Jets

A convincing victory for the boys against their Edinburgh rivals
