NUVOC Women 5-0 Drummond Jets. A resounding victory for the women in Division 2.
Unfortunately the other visiting jets team won a closley contested match in mens division 3. NUVOC III 2-3 Polonia Jets (26-24, 19-25, 25-22, 26-35, 10-15).
In the city of disco-very second division clash started a bit lack lustre but with encouragement from balcony and the opportunity of tea and sannies the boys were spurred onto their first win in the league. Dundee II 2-3 NUVOC II. 26-24, 16-25, 25-19, 13-25, 10-15
The divsion one tie between Dundee I and NUVOC I looked as if the boys were in for a bit of a doing losing the first set 25-18. However, a few choice words of inspiration seemed to kickstart the action, the boys managed to win the next two sets and got to match point in the fourth unable to convert the boys tripped out defeated but not without a fight. Third week of National League fixtures and teething problems are slowly but surely ironing themselves out. If all the bits fit this weekend then wins will be in the bag.
NUVOC Men I & II travel up to Dundee (Div II: 10.30 Div I: 12.30 at Craigie High School) to dual with respective division rivals. Last years clashes threw up close games and we're assured that salad only sandwiches are to be provided for buddha.
In Edinburgh, it's a NUVOC/JETS bish bash bosh. In mens division 3 our very own Pentland NUVOC III will be out of the traps quick to cross horns with Polonia Jets (9.30 at Firrhill High School) whilst our ever increasing womens squad will be out to damage Drummond Jets (11.45 at Firrhill High School) in what should be an interesting and vocal womens division 2 clash.
