We're lucky enough to have a certain Paddy McLoughlin at the club just now and he's in the throws of doing a Masters in performance psychology. Read on....
"My name is Paddy McLoughlin and Im currently doing a Masters in performance psychology at the University of Edinburgh. For my dissertation Im investigating visual attention and perception in male volleyball players, with at least five years experience of competitive volleyball. Im hoping to get 24 volleyball players for the study. It would be much appreciated if you could take a few minutes to have a quick read of the information below.Firstly I promise there will be no electric shock treatment involved. Those who agree to participate in the study will be asked to view a number of images presented on a laptop screen. You will be asked to identify differences between the two images that are presented. Two sample images from the study are shown below. The majority of the images will be from volleyball games but a few will be unrelated to volleyball. The test should last approximately 45 minutes. I would be hugely greatful if you would consider participating in the study.
If you think you might be interested or have some spare time, please feel free to drop me an email/text and we can try to arrange a suitable time during the next couple of weeks. Cheers Paddy." If you can spare 45 minutes to help in this research please email : paddy_mc90 [at] hotmail [dot] com
